RODALE:

What’s better than fresh fruits and vegetables on a warm summer day?  Fresh organic fruits and vegetables!  Mother Nature was kind to the PBS 39 members who participated in the Rodale Organic Farm Tour on June 12th, with a day full of sunshine and warm breezes to accompany them as they learned about superior farming methods, community supported agriculture programs, and the true path of your food from farm to plate.

After the tour of the farm, directed by Rodale Outreach and Education Director Maria Pop, participants enjoyed an organic, vegetarian lunch in the Garden
Pavilion.

"My wife and I have been trying to learn more about eating more natural and organic foods…so this has been a really nice visit, says Leadership Circle
member Joe Hagan.

PBS 39 is proud to bring you events that open the doors to your community, so watch your mail for invitations to exciting events like these!

MONTGOMERY COUNTY:
The Perkiomen School was the gracious host of the Premiere Party for our Tempo Special Report on Montgomery County, held June 19th in Pennsburg, PA.  Food, fun and community pride was had by all as members of PBS 39 and the Upper Perkiomen Chamber of Commerce mingled and were treated to a pre-screening of the half hour special that detailed the treasures Montgomery County holds, as well as the challenges they face by being a sought after place to live and work.  In attendance were the Hendershots, a family of fine artists that live and work in Montgomery County.

Also on hand were PBS 39 President and CEO Patricia Simon and Senior Vice President of Production, Amy Burkett, to welcome our enthusiastic guests.  Many thanks to Carol Dougherty of the Perkiomen School and Lu Ann Stauffer of the Upper Perkiomen Chamber of Commerce for helping us make the evening special for everyone involved.  To order your own copy of the Tempo Special Report on Montgomery County, please call (610) 984-8251.
